on my own two feet

I picked Isaac up from child care last week and to my surprise, he was playing in their exer-saucer. What? He's totally not big enough for that yet! I mean, that's not for at least another 6 months or so...right? Nope. Before my very eyes, my sweet little lovie has become a very strong baby boy. He can't sit up yet, but if you hold on to his tiny hands while he is seated, he will push up on his legs and stand straight and tall. (babies have the best posture!) Anyhoo...a few days later, I went down to the basement to haul up the exer-saucer that belonged to our niece and nephew. Isaac has a blast playing and turning around as he grabs each fun attachment in a very determined attempt to lure it to his mouth. Everything is in the mouth these days...fingers, toes, toys, books, blankets, earrings, necklaces, hair, etc. The best thing is he reached for me when I picked him up a few days ago. Melty, melty!!!

Keith finished his last final exam today. Poor guy had 6 tests this week, on top of continual classes. I woke up this morning and he was not in bed. I found him downstairs in the kitchen. I asked if he managed to get any sleep last night and his reply was, "I think I nodded off for about an hour." He is now konked on the couch spooning with Isaac, who is also out like a light. (I just snapped that pic. Look at Isaac's little crossed feet! Precious!) Despite the lack of sleep, Keith did awesome and is now in a state of bewilderment and shock that his didactic year is over and that in a few short weeks he will begin his clincal rotations. He told me as he walked out of school today that he felt like he could walk taller and hold his head higher. I'm so proud of all he has accomplished!

While he was studying so much, I had friends come over periodically to help keep me (and Isaac) company. I don't know how single mom's do it. I barely lasted a week before I was about to hit my breaking point. Tita Jeni was there the night Isaac played in his exer-saucer for the first time. Look at those smiles!!! Isaac loves Jen...Jen loves Isaac. It is a beautiful relationship.

Mia and Auntie Ains are coming for a visit. They arrive on Saturday and will stay to play until Thursday. I will write of our adventures with them next time. Love and hugs from us all!
