sign of things to come

Though not mobile yet, Isaac is growing closer everyday. When he does decide to crawl, I'm almost sure it will be from a seated position, and not from his belly. He seems to be much more interested in walking forward with his hands, reaching for things, instead of trying to figure out how to push up on all fours from his tummy. However, when he does manage to get on all fours, he looks at you with panic and grunts and complains until you can stop laughing long enough to help him. Poor lil' lovie.

In other news, this past Saturday we decided to enjoy the gorgeous weather by going to our church picnic. As we have become regular attenders, we've discovered at least 6 other couples who are also first-time parents. So far, there are two babies that are only 2 days apart from Isaac plus a 9 month old, a 7 month old, and a 4 month old. Fun! We are trying to make friends, for our sake and Isaac's. It's going well so far. On Saturday, we met two more of the couples and, hallelujah, they are from the South! Arkansas and Austin. I was happy to learn that the Austin couple actually graduated from A&M. Instant blood bond! Love it. Keith was just content to discuss real, legit college football once again. After eating, we had a stroller parade to the petting zoo at the park. My always rule-abiding, play-it-straight, never cross the line hubby (eh hem) decided to feed the animals right in front of the "Do NOT feed the animals!" sign, setting a lovely example for all the kiddos.

That's all for now. Hopefully I'll manage to download some video footage soon of Isaac's attempts to crawl. So cute. Until then...

Go, Isaac, Go! You're so close!

And Curt will be so proud of Keith and his rebellion. I swear. Must they test everything???

Some of my favorite video footage is of the kids' attempts at becoming mobile. They are so frustrated and all you can hear is me laughing in the background. What a mean mommy!

Keith, I always knew you had a wild side! Steph, just wait until you are telling Isaac "NO" and his response is "then why does daddy do it?"
