happy 4th!

In New England, each town selects a different day to display their fireworks show as to not conflict with the neighboring towns. So, we actually attended Hamden's show on Friday evening. With blanket and chairs we set up our little plot of land and I held fort while Keith and Isaac scoped out the "carny food" options. My only request was kettle corn, and they did not neglect to please. However, in addition, Keith bought fried oreos. Now hold on...don't turn up your nose because they were amazing! Perfectly warm and mushy and cakey. Wow! If ever you have an opportunity, try them! The rest of the evening was perfect with fireworks set to music (Neil Diamond, Bruce Springsteen, and of course, Lee Greenwood...always tears me up!). Isaac sat in wonder and watched them, then pointed to the sky as we walked home exclaiming, "Fire! Fire!"

On the 4th, we had some friends over for a cook-out and then, just before we got Isaac ready for bed, we lit some sparklers. It was still light outside, but it didn't seem to matter. It was just as dazzling.

One last thing...CT was hotter than TX today. That's just wrong. WRONG, people!

Have a great week!!

I am in agreement with you! I don't think there could possibly be anything wrong with a fried oreo, well except maybe that I didn't get to try it! Can't wait to see you in 2 weeks!

We had a fun yet relatively quiet 4th...PapaDoc got to play golf Sun afternoon AND Mon early. He's even going to get to play on Sat- Sun in a tournament w Bill Hankins. Forecast is for humid & 90's.
