fun fundraisers

Okay...for those of you that know me well, you might want to sit down for what I am about to tell you. Yesterday, I entered a 5k Fun Run with Isaac, Mom, and Jen. Yes, it is true. I deliberately registered to complete 5k. Shocked? Well, you won't be now when I tell you I did not run one inch, but rather walked proudly behind Isaac's stroller. Actually, we all took turns pushing him while he slept snug as a bug. It was really chilly and VERY windy. We were the last ones to finish the Run and I have not an ounce of shame. It was a lovely morning. However, it is slightly pathetic to admit that my legs are sore today. Isaac was by far the youngest, smallest, and cutest participant. He would have definitely won in his age bracket if I had actually paid to register him as a runner. How hilarious would that have been!

Run for Your Life was just one of the fundraisers the Student PA Society was hosting yesteray. The other was Cow Chip Bingo. Allow me to explain. They draw a grid of 1000 squares on a field and fence it in. Numbered tickets are sold to community, family, and friends for $10 each. Then, three cows are released onto the grid and everyone stands around until they do their business. First cow to drop a patty...that square's holder wins $1500. The second poop is worth $1000, and the third is worth $500. Not bad. All in all, it took about 4 hours for each cow to contribute. I'm from Fort Worth, Texas...which is know as "Cowtown"...and I have never in my days seen anything like this. It was pretty funny seemed extremely random that they were doing it in Connecticut.

Mom left today. Isaac was sad to see Grandma go. So was I. We had such a great time this weekend.

Have a great week everyone!

P.S. - Hope you're able to get some sleep soon! I promise it gets better... lol

That's hilarious! So, what happens when the poop falls on a line? Or, is it where the first patty lands that counts? I can't wait to see my sweet honey...just a little more than a week now!
