We recently ventured to Louisiana to introduce Isaac to Keith's family and friends. Doesn't he look just like Cimba in The Lion King when he was held up for all to see on the cliff's edge? Thus was Isaac's visit...he was treated like a prince, showered with love and affection. The weather was GORGEOUS and Isaac loved being outside with the sun and warm air on his skin. We had to take two planes to get there, and two planes to return. I was so worried about how Isaac would do on the flights. He actually did great. He either ate, slept, or was alert looking around and playing. He really only fussed once for about 3 minutes total and the man sitting in front of us turned around about fourteen times during that short interval to make sure I knew he did not like it. GEEZE!!! I mean, what about the other 122 minutes of the flight that Isaac didn't make a peep? I really wanted to say a thing or two to that man...I held my tongue. Here's a few pics of his first airport and plane experience.Keith's mom hosted a Sip-n-See for people to come and meet Isaac in person. I think half the town came over. Isaac was adored and goochey-gooed over for 3 hours straight. I think it was sensory overload for him, because he was not himself for the rest of the day. Poor thing was a little overwhelmed. Yet, he practiced his masterful flirting skills like a seasoned pro...you know, half smiles just enough to show his dimple, gentle averting of the eyes and then glancing back, tucking his chin under and then peering at you through the tops of his eyes with a shy smile...killer. The ladies were puddy in his hands. Everyone was so generous, bringing gifts to Isaac. He of course received TONS of LSU paraphenalia. I can take a hint.
We spent lots of extra time with family. Isaac was fortunate to meet both sets of great-grandparents, and, he finally met Auntie Em for the first time! Keith's Uncle Jimmy brought Gus, his gigantic docile Great Dane. He was so gentle with Isaac. Auntie Ains and Mia enjoyed taking care of Isaac while Keith and I went to visit friends. Most mornings were spent outside on the back porch with coffee and conversation. Our last night we ordered 5 pounds of boiled crawfish, gumbo, and shrimp etouffee. DELISH! Isaac will love it all...someday. For now, I think he was a little leery of the crawfish (s'okay sweetie, mommy was hesistant at first too...and now I love 'em!)
all the ladies in the family
Tutu and Big Jack (Keith's mom's parents)
four generations of DeSonier men; Mere and Judge (Keith's dad's parents)
Isaac...Gus. Gus...this is Isaac. Nice to meet you!

All in all, a great time was had by all. We can't wait to return.

Oh woman... your child, your bangs, the warm weather, the great dane... I LOVE THEM ALL!!!
Looks like y'all were truly "showered" in the greatest way! We are blessed with such great families! One word though, slippers? at the shower?...you can't claim the swollen feet thing anymore.
It is really fun to see Isaac wearing Grant's little tiny clothes! Was Grant ever that small? Makes me miss my sweet little bubby!
