We enjoyed a wonderful, sunny, Easter Sunday here in New Haven. After church, we dropped by Tita's so she could help us take some family photos. Then, we had lunch at the Crockett's where we attempted to have an egg hunt for the kiddos. Mind you, the oldest participating child was 16 months. Needless to say, moms and dads did most of the egg hunting. But, I must say Isaac practiced all weekend, preparing to kick some egg-hunter booty. We hid eggs in the house and out back for him to try gathering into his little blue bucket. He really was becoming quite professional. However, those eggs were empty and as soon as he picked up his first egg at the hunt and discovered that it had surprises inside, all skill went out the door. As far as Isaac was concerned, no other egg existed to be found. He obsessed over opening that one, plastic egg. Finally, Daddy helped and colorful Fruit Loops came tumbling out! Isaac began to stuff his face. Once he finished with all that egg's contents, then, and only then, did he seek out another egg...not to put in his bucket...but to pry open, finding crunchy Goldfish waiting to be gobbled. And so the rest of the "hunt" went. Isaac chowing on marshmallows, Teddy Grahams, and crackers instead of gathering eggs. Eat now, hunt later!! That was his strategy. He had all the adults cracking up. Boy, were we proud parents. (eh hem...please don't miss the half eaten purple Fruit Loop stuck to his bottom lip. priceless.)
