trimester...the third

It has begun. The beginning of the end. The downward slope to the finish. Today, officially, I start week 28 which ushers me into the third trimester. People ask me often if I am ready to have the baby. Um, NO WAY! Thank goodness we still have three months to prepare...mentally - emotionally - logistically - mentally! The main thought occupying my mind these days is, "what will our cutie look like?" Will he have Keith's eyes? (I hope so.) Will he have my nose? (I hope not.) Will he have curly or straight hair? Will he have freckles? Dimples? Finger toes? I'm sure whatever the combination, he will be absolutely irresistable in our eyes.

In honor of the occasion, I have posted some new belly photos for your viewing pleasure.

One of my co-workers told me the other day..."Estef, pareces un hilo con un nudo!" (You look like a thread with a knot in it!) Okay, so I'll take that as a, uh, compliment? Sometimes, when I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror or perhaps a window reflection, I think back upon my childhood days when my friends and I would stick balloons under our shirts to see what we would look like pregnant. Oh, come on! You totally did it too!!!!

So, little cheetoe supposedly weighs in at 2 1/2 pounds this week, with an approx head to toe measurement of 16 inches. His big accomplishment this week is blinking. Don't ask us about names. We are still thinking. However, even if we decide...no one will know until our little lovie enters the world.

I apologize for the severe time lapse between the last posting and this one. Nothing too exciting has transpired since then. I do want to create the habit of giving you new reads at least once a week. I can make no promises though. I will try to post Sunday or Monday from now on...give or take a few days here and there.

Random: If you like making homemade corn bread, I have some scoop. I used to religiously use Aunt Jemima corn meal and the recipe on the back. The only corn meal I could find up here was Quaker. (Go figure.) Anyway, as it turns out...the recipe on the back of Quaker is FABULOUS!! Yum in the tum! Super soft, just the right amount of sweet, and very moist. Try it!!
